“It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.” — Albus Dumbledore

Chapter 1: The Boy Who Lived

On a seemingly ordinary night, the wizarding world celebrates the downfall of the dark wizard Voldemort, who mysteriously vanished after attempting to kill baby Harry Potter. Harry survives with only a lightning-shaped scar, while his parents, James and Lily Potter, are killed. Albus Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, and the half-giant Rubeus Hagrid leave Harry with his neglectful Muggle relatives, the Dursleys, hoping to protect him until he comes of age.

Chapter 2: The Vanishing Glass

Ten years later, Harry lives a miserable life with the Dursleys, who treat him poorly while spoiling their son, Dudley. Strange occurrences happen around Harry, like his hair regrowing overnight or accidentally freeing a boa constrictor at the zoo. He begins to suspect he is different but has no explanation.

Chapter 3: The Letters from No One

Harry starts receiving mysterious letters addressed to him, but Uncle Vernon destroys them. The letters multiply, flooding the house. In a desperate attempt to escape, Vernon takes the family to a remote island. At midnight on Harry’s eleventh birthday, Hagrid bursts in, revealing the truth: Harry is a wizard.

Chapter 4: The Keeper of the Keys

Hagrid explains Harry’s magical heritage, telling him about his parents and Voldemort’s attack. He takes Harry to Diagon Alley, a hidden magical shopping district, where Harry learns about his family’s wealth and purchases school supplies, including his first wand—a brother to Voldemort’s, sharing a phoenix feather core.

Chapter 5: Diagon Alley

Harry explores the wonders of the wizarding world, meeting goblins at Gringotts Bank and buying his school robes, books, and a snowy owl named Hedwig. He also encounters Draco Malfoy, a snobbish boy who warns him against associating with “the wrong sort.”

Chapter 6: The Journey from Platform Nine and Three-Quarters

Harry struggles to find Platform 9¾ at King’s Cross Station until he meets the Weasley family, who guide him. On the Hogwarts Express, he befriends Ron Weasley and meets Hermione Granger, an intelligent but bossy girl. They also encounter Draco Malfoy again, who insults Ron.

Chapter 7: The Sorting Hat

Upon arriving at Hogwarts, the first-years are sorted into houses by the magical Sorting Hat. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are placed in Gryffindor, while Draco joins Slytherin. Harry also meets the school’s strict Potions master, Severus Snape, who seems to despise him immediately.

Chapter 8: The Potions Master

Classes begin, and Harry excels in flying during his first broomstick lesson. After defending Neville Longbottom from Draco, Professor McGonagall recruits Harry as Gryffindor’s Seeker in Quidditch, the wizarding sport. Meanwhile, Snape’s hostility toward Harry grows, making him suspicious.

Chapter 9: The Midnight Duel

Harry and Ron accept Draco’s challenge to a midnight duel but are tricked into wandering the castle. They accidentally discover a massive three-headed dog guarding a trapdoor. Realizing the dog is protecting something valuable, they begin to wonder what lies beneath.

Chapter 10: Halloween

On Halloween, a troll is unleashed in the castle. Harry and Ron rescue Hermione from the creature, earning her friendship. Meanwhile, they notice Snape sneaking toward the forbidden third-floor corridor, seemingly injured.

Chapter 11: Quidditch

Harry’s first Quidditch match is nearly sabotaged when his broom is jinxed. Hermione notices Snape muttering a spell and sets his robes on fire, breaking the curse. After Harry catches the Snitch, Hagrid accidentally reveals that the dog is guarding the Philosopher’s Stone, a magical object granting immortality.

Chapter 12: The Mirror of Erised

Harry stumbles upon the Mirror of Erised, which shows his deepest desire—his parents. Dumbledore warns him about the mirror’s dangers. Meanwhile, Harry, Ron, and Hermione deduce that Snape is trying to steal the Stone for Voldemort.

Chapter 13: Nicolas Flamel

The trio researches Nicolas Flamel, the creator of the Philosopher’s Stone, confirming their suspicions. They realize the Stone is in danger and decide to act.

Chapter 14: Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback

Hagrid wins a dragon egg in a card game, but raising the illegal creature becomes problematic. The trio helps smuggle the dragon to Ron’s brother Charlie, but they are caught and punished.

Chapter 15: The Forbidden Forest

As detention, Harry, Hermione, Neville, and Draco enter the Forbidden Forest, where Harry encounters a hooded figure drinking unicorn blood. Firenze, a centaur, explains that the figure is Voldemort, surviving by drinking the blood.

Chapter 16: Through the Trapdoor

Believing the Stone is in immediate danger, Harry, Ron, and Hermione bypass the three-headed dog and navigate a series of magical challenges, including a deadly plant and a life-sized wizard’s chess game. Ron sacrifices himself so Harry can proceed.

Chapter 17: The Man with Two Faces

Harry reaches the final chamber, where he finds Professor Quirrell, not Snape, attempting to steal the Stone. Quirrell reveals he serves Voldemort, who is clinging to life on the back of his head. Harry’s touch burns Quirrell, and he passes out before Dumbledore arrives.

Chapter 18: The Journey Home

Harry wakes in the hospital wing. Dumbledore explains that the Stone has been destroyed and that Harry’s mother’s love protected him from Voldemort. At the end-of-year feast, Gryffindor wins the House Cup. Harry returns to the Dursleys, now knowing he has a true home at Hogwarts.
